We started researching surrogacy fall of 2021, in earnest with all the medical processes spring of 2022, and our son was born fall of 2023. Throughout the process they were transparent and made sure we were aware of upcoming steps. Just… More like a normal pregnancy, the surrogacy process is stressful filled with questions, anticipation, set backs, and can sometimes be hard to manage the feelings especially when you're located outside of Mexico (which was our case living in the US). Our mantra throughout the process, was to not rush anything and to feel good about our decisions.
Our journey itself couldn't have gone more smooth. While we did have a set back with the original Egg donor we had identified, we took our time finding another (again back to our mantra of not rushing and feeling good about our decisions.) As we originally had an egg donor previously identified we had already been in the process of matching with a surrogate so when our eggs from our 2nd egg donor were ready and embryos created and genetically tested the first transfer to our surrogate was quick and luckily our son was born from this first try.
The clinic kept us in communication with each ultrasound answered all our questions in a timely fashion (although this can feel like a lifetime when you're hundreds or thousands of miles away). We also had a positive experience with the birth and was the first time we met our surrogate in person. The hospital was top notch and private.
What really solidified my positive experience with Surrogacy Mexico was also the Lawyer Firm they partnered with who have been on the forefront of codifying surrogacy into law via the court system. While there I had 1st had experience listening to not great experiences of other families who had used different surrogacy agencies and lawyers, only to have ended up with this agency's law firm partner due to their reputation and the fact that they're the leading experts in surrogacy law in Mexico and Latin America.
I think everyone's surrogacy journey is different and am fortunate that ours was a positive one and will be pursuing a second child via surrogacy via Surrogacy Mexico.
