International Surrogacy

There are a limited number of countries around the world that allow for legal surrogacy.  This leads many to seek treatment in other countries like Mexico and the United States where this process is regulated by law: they have either statute (written law) or  case law / jurisprudence that has established a precedent on the subject.

Surrogacy was the subject of a 2021 deliberation by the Supreme Court of Mexico which found it to be constitutional and a valid form of family building.  Contracts are valid and recognized.  As a result, Mexico is becoming a new destination for international surrogacy. 

This gives hope for couples and individuals around the world needing creative family building solutions.  As long as intended parents have knowledge of their home country’s exit process and citizenship requirements, surrogacy in Mexico just may be the answer they are looking for.
